What is a Naturopathic Doctor?
Much
can be understood about what a Naturopathic Doctor is can be understood
by reading the Naturopathic Philosophy
page. Because naturopathic doctors do not specialize in the same
way as other doctors, we are Dermatologists, Ear-Nose-Throat specialists,
Endocrinoligists, Gastroenterologists, General Practitioners,
Gynecologists, Neurologists, Pediatricians, Psychiatrists, Counselors,
and many others all in our own way treating the whole patient
instead of one area of the body.
As a naturopathic
doctor, my specialty is correcting why you have the symptoms
and/or disease you have and not only suppressing the symptoms
or even treating the disease. Naturopathic doctors do not specialize
in areas of the body like MD's because we treat the whole body.
Every disease or condition of one part or system of the body is
related to another. For example, skin is related to the liver,
allergies to the digestive system, infections related to your
immune and digestive systems, and cancer is related to many systems
of the body, just to name a few. Therefore, if one only treats
the place or system of the body where the disease is showing up,
the disease process will not stop progressing by only using suppressive
methods.
My purpose
for you is to teach you how to heal your body from the inside
out. To teach you how to get out of your body's own way to health
and healing. All my treatments are based in my philosophy that
the body has the ability to heal itself by removing any and all
obstacles your body may have to heal. I use many evidence based
treatments as well as traditional. Click on the modalities page
to read the different methods I will use for you.
Sometimes we need to
look at things from outside the box and take another approach.
I can provide a completely different and sometimes opposite point
of view of treatment.
